Reflecting on 'Science on Stage' 2026, Lithuania

I’ve been reflecting on my participation in the Science on Stage Festival in Lithuania earlier in the year- a European platform provided for teachers to exchange pedagogical concepts and share science teaching ideas. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet and learn from so many- over 4 days- including the 20 wonderful teachers who, with myself,made up the UK delegation including Rose Edmondson, Stuart Naismith, Becky Parker, Alex Black and Pete Munroe. There was a diverse range of projects from early years through to post 16, aiming to share good practice and raise the overall quality of science teaching. My project was part of the ‘STEM Education for Sustainable Development’ category and highlighted the power of collaborative learning through use of ‘Great Science Share for Schools’ resources, linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (UN). Continuing with my STEM Learning journey

Hi Again All, It's great to be back blogging after a very busy time: being Head of Year 4 over the last two years, undertaking a NPQLT, taking part in our Ogden Trust Partnership in Bridlington, being a PSQM Hub Lead within our wonderful Yorkshire and the Humber team, being a member of the ASE Primary Science Committee and also moving house, supporting my girls, partner, family and four-legged boy. Having worked at Burlington Junior School in Bridlington for the last eight years, I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work at STEM Learning, such a highly revered educational organisation,  over this coming academic year- as a secondee. It was great that I was able to secure our 'Careers Mark' accreditation at school for the third time (years 5/6) before I left and handed that responsibility to my colleague Maxine. My trip to CERN August 2023

Hi All, It is great to be blogging again- it has been too long. And what an amazing topic to be sharing...  I feel lucky and so proud to have visited CERN in Geneva (which was established in 1954) with The Ogden Trust and the University of Birmingham during the holidays.  Research, Innovation, Collaboration. Inspiration. All true of this amazing place. It was such a valuable and inspirational experience which really highlighted to me the value of collaboration, curiosity, resilience and positivity- and the amazingness of the global Science community; if only every element of life had the same humanitarian outlook!   (Surprised and happy to find that my friend and amazing PSQM colleague, Kathryn Horan, was also taking part in the visit).
